An Editor-in-chief is needed to manage the output of one of the world’s biggest cycling websites, delivering market-leading reviews, news and how-tos.
The role, based in Bristol, is working with the publishing team and you’ll set the vision and strategy for the website and be responsible for driving traffic and facilitating the site’s commercial agenda. You’ll manage a team of writers and freelancers and work closely with the development, product, marketing and SEO teams. You’ll also have the chance to travel internationally to attend product launch.

Accountabilities
* Manage a team of writers to deliver copy about bikes, equipment, clothing, accessories and technology in a number of formats, including group tests, reviews, first looks, news pieces, workshop guides and technical features.
* Manage a freelance contributor budget and ensure maximum efficiency of content production.
* Attend product launches, events, rides and shows as a representative of Immediate, and product demos by visiting PRs.
* Help set the strategy for the website and execute it.
* Deliver ideas and a vision for the website and translate this into action.
* Be responsible for the overall traffic performance of the site across a number of key metrics such as users, page views and engagement measures.
* Work closely with the commercial teams to deliver the product they require to meet their targets.
* Be the industry face of the website by developing and maintaining productive industry contacts, attending consumer events and liaising with readers via forums/social media to answer queries and promote interaction.

Competencies
* You’ll ideally have an in-depth knowledge of cycling, cycling technology and the market.
* A strong track record of working at a senior level in digital media is required.
* A thorough understanding of digital media, in particular, SEO and data analytics is essential.
* Work experience within the bike industry or evidence of participation in cycling is preferable.
* An excellent level of written English is required.
* Strong organisational and planning skills are needed for the role as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines.
* You’ll demonstrate strong leadership experience and skills, having successfully led teams in previous roles.
* Experience of working with teams based internationally is preferred.
* Experience of building strong relationships is needed alongside great communication skills.
