NEW JOB- Currently looking for a Group Head with leadership experience for a significant, fast-growing, dynamic multi-platform consumer media business based in West London.
The Group Head’s primary responsibility is for the budget and revenues of a market leading magazine. You will be responsible for achieving and exceeding print display budget through your own sales and through the management of the display team. With display revenues being the largest element of the print revenues, you will be seen as the defacto print lead reporting to the AD.

You will be responsible for delivering the magazine on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, managing forecast, trading agreements and paginations to meet and exceed set budgets. A key part of the role is the development of your direct reports, to mentor & develop the print sales team and enable them to become cross media & creative solutions experts, as well as great display sales people.

Working closely with the AD, and the Digital and Brand solutions Group Heads, you will create the display element of the brand strategy and contribute to setting yearly budgets. You will work closely with editorial, insight and design to develop and deliver innovative, market-leading solutions to take out to market.

You will personally account manage existing clients & agencies; pitch & develop new business; understand and monitor the market & strive to develop exciting & market leading client solutions across the magazine and business personally. You will look after clients for cross-media campaigns where appropriate, developing and pitching creative, bespoke solutions.

Accountabilities

• Possess excellent Market Knowledge
• Manage the Portfolio and know key senior contacts in agencies and clients
• Has full knowledge on clients’ previous, current and future activity
• Can operate the flat plan, update the board, run the options book and know exactly where revenue stands against forecast and budget at any given moment across display and the brand
• Can effectively monitor team performance through weekly leads meetings, 1—2-1’s and reporting mechanisms
• Understand how to conduct a successful negotiation
• Supports staff on major deals or negotiations where own experience will be of commercial benefit and develop staff
• Able to produce an effective presentation
• Confidently presents on a 1:1 basis, small group basis or formal stand-up presentation
• consistently aware of title performance against budget/forecast
• Ensures records and files are up to date and can be effectively used by anyone at anytime
• Keeps Director fully informed of business activity across the team
• Ensures that team market share and competitive monitoring records are up to date and accurate
• Ensures weekly figures are completed and inputted onto system
• Is able to regularly communicate and report the brand revenue position
• Is able to communicate successfully with the Publisher and Managing Director on revenue, forecast and pagination
• Is numerate and completes calculations accurately
Experience
• Significant experience in advertising sales at a senior level
• To have worked and managed a team in national press or on a monthly/weekly magazine.
• To be able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
• Extensive market knowledge of national press market
• Exceptional communication, administration and business management skills
• Experience of team management essential
