Currently searching for a Head of Video for a fabulous client in the viral video and breaking news space.

Reporting into the CEO this new leadership position will be charged with delivering the growth in the efficient supply of relevant video onto our clients platform. By working closely with your team, as well as the Product Management team, the Head of Video will be responsible for leading the development of the capabilities (people, process and technology) for the discovery of video as well as the management and curation of video on the platform.

The purpose of the role is both to minimise the risk posed by unsuitable or questionable content existing on the platform, as well as to facilitate the discovery of relevant video by clients. These processes will be supported by a combination of third-party systems as well as existing and yet to be built in-house software tools.

The Head of Video will work closely with sales people in the Commercial Team to ensure that video supply (e.g. topics, genres, style, format and duration) is aligned with the needs of the different market segments that the business serves.
Finally, the successful candidate will work with the Marketing Team to ensure that member-focused tools and features deployed by the Marketing Team are effective at driving the efficient supply of relevant video from registered members to the platform.

Responsibilities:
● Assume ultimate responsibility for the supply of video onto the platform
● Lead the development of the capabilities (people, process and technology) for the discovery of video as well as the management and curation of video on the platform
● Full P&L ownership of the news desk teams
● Manage customer, client and partner data and use this to drive decisions and influence tactical activity
● Lead and manage the above in a cost effective manner including regular reporting on the effectiveness, impact and return on investment to the Senior Management Team
● Provide strategic input into the company’s business plans

Qualifications:
● Experience of delivering commercial results in an editorial role focussed on video
● Engaging leader who gains buy-in and respect from team & peers and is able to influence at senior level
● Motivated by the potential of technology to deliver business results
● Proficient at managing development and growth via a set of data-driven KPI’s
● Considerable people management skills and experience, including a track record of building, developing and transforming teams
● Ability to work autonomously, delegate, prioritise and manage a considerable workload
● Sound financial and budgetary management and solid commercial acumen
● Strong analytical, project management and problem solving skills, with high attention to detail
● Ability to think strategically and creatively to exploit and identify business opportunities
● The ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing business and marketplace
