Currently recruiting for a Sponsorship Sales Executive for a growing division of a national Media owner.
Now in its third year, our clients Business Events division is growing and scaling its award winning established conference portfolio as well as launching new bespoke events and a major confex.. You will be responsible for selling across these events working within a dedicated B2B sponsorship team.

The new Sponsorship Executive will be responsible for securing new business against a portfolio of legacy conferences.

Chaired by senior journalists, government leaders and senior heads from industry, the portfolio of global conferences deliver world-class programmes that help shape policy, inspire innovation and facilitate ‘target-led’ networking for organisations serious about doing business
The major events focus on Technology, Security, Cities, Digital Transformation, High Growth Markets and SME’s. They also run bespoke campaigns working with single clients on tailored event campaigns.

You will work closely with the production, marketing and operations and be supported by the account management team to activate and deliver sponsorships. Packages involve selling the wider platforms to amplify the event opportunities offering significant media value and reach for sponsor and partners.

We are looking for an ambitious sales person with the ability to pitch both proven and launch events ideally with a strong existing network of b2b contacts. The business events team has a start-up feel within an established business offering lots of opportunity to grow and achieve.  Standard sponsorship opportunities range from £15k - £100k and bespoke packages can be up to £250k

Key Responsibilities
• Selling bespoke sponsorship packages to senior decision makers on a national and international scale
• Meeting face-to-face with industry leaders and give clear and concise feedback to project team
• Leading high-level pitches to existing and new clients · Guiding and advising clients through the opportunity and process
• Working closely with the account managers to ensure that all aspects of sponsorship are met and fulfilled
• Working closely with the portfolio producer and marketing manager to help identify new topics and commercial opportunities
• Building and maintaining long successful relationships with clients
• Efficiently planning time against weekly/monthly targets and be able to clearly present results back to the sponsorship team
• Ensure that business conduct reflects an enthusiastic and efficient image of the department and the brand
• Stays abreast of trends in your sector and understand how they impact clients’ business and marketing initiatives
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the content-marketing/branded content industry and provide thought leadership and guidance to clients

Specific Requirements
• A very good level of demonstrable experience selling conference/expo sponsorship
• At least three years experience in B2B sales
• Excellent written, oral and communication skills
• Solid sales mythology that is both consultative and solution orientated
• Excellent business development experience, taking care of your long standing clients, as well as exceeding your targets
• Superb negotiation skills and thriving in a deadline-driven environment
