We are looking for a Business Development Manager to work on the largest global event dedicated to brand marketers. You will be responsible for generating revenue for the show through the sale of stand space, speaker opportunities and sponsorship. This includes managing existing revenue streams and establishing new ones.
Our client is a multi-platform content and services business that provides businesses and individuals with knowledge, tools and opportunities to improve their performance. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensuring revenue targets are achieved, generating sales at agreed rates and maximum yield values, negotiating where appropriate, in line with portfolio targets and approved negotiation parameters
  • Researching and canvassing for new business, identifying sales opportunities and effectively presenting key features for conversion to revenue. Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key decision makers, in existing and new clients, ensuring a clear understanding of both their business and its requirements, to drive maximum revenues supported by excellent customer service
  • Put a strategy in place to ensure effective coverage of your sectors. You will identify all the major accounts, and know where, why and how they market themselves. You are expected to deliver a high standard of key account management at all times.
  • Demonstrating comprehensive market and product knowledge, including a clear understanding of market trends and developments, USPs and benefits for our clients products versus competitors, in order to maximise sales opportunities
  • Monitoring competitor offering and websites to seek and convert leads, and monitors new clients and industry developments to drive lead conversion
  • Strive for new and innovative ways to gain revenue share and have a creative & problem-solving approach to your work.
  • Demonstrating enthusiastic and professional delivery through preparation, effective use of visual aids and up to date database records which reflect accurate contact and company details
  • Effective pipeline management to enable accurate forecasting of prospects to the Commercial Director and other team members
  • Maintaining accurate floor plans, avoiding any void areas and ensuring relevant team members are informed about changes and amendments.
  • Contributing to the timely delivery and effectiveness of exhibitor and visitor promotions, supporting the delivery of events as required.
  • Work closely with all relevant editorial, research, marketing and commercial teams, sharing contact information with all relevant parties to build both knowledge and skill sets
 
Essential Knowledge
  • Proven sales skills and a drive to identify new revenue streams (3 years +)
  • Tenacious attitude, willingness to uncover new business.
  • Ability to present F2F to external clients at C-suite levels.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive outlook and high standards
  • Ability to keep a consistently high level of sales output
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • You will be professional at all times (i.e. behaviour, appearance etc.) and understand this reflects how you represent your team and company.

  • Achievement of agreed monthly & quarterly revenue targets
  • New business lead generation
  • F2F Meetings
  • Consistently meeting and exceeding agreed weekly KPIs
  • Demonstrable growth of exhibitor & sponsor base YOY
