We are currently searching for a Business Development Manager with experience of the licensing sector, preferably working with clients in the publishing and broadcast sectors.

Our client, a specialist video and photography archive based in West London, is seeking an experienced and driven Business Development manager to join the UK and International Sales team. The company offers generous benefits including full health coverage and provides a pleasant working environment with a small team of dynamic and dedicated co-workers.  
With an ambitious growth strategy over the next two years, they are looking to recruit an experienced sales and business development manager who will be responsible for attracting new customers to the business, as well as retaining the number of people using the services from the existing customer base across all sectors.  
 
The role focuses on the UK and over time will include customers in international territories.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • The main responsibility of the role is to a) increase market share by identifying and securing new customers and b) proactively promoting and upselling the value of their content and services to existing customers
  • Proposing and closing deals (images and footage sales)
  • Can help inspire and motivate a team of account managers to over-achieve against target
  • A self-starter who can manage the execution of a repeatable process for sales prospecting, email outreach, and outbound calling
  • Can track and achieve performance metrics by which the role will be measured (e.g., call/email activity, response rates, leads generated, lead quality)
  • Effectively drives prospect research and building activity for the various sectors for the UK and International markets
  • Excels in a fast-paced, dynamic, and international environment
  • Deliver high quality work in a timely and professional manner whilst actively participating in a team environment
Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous experience in business development in a sales environment for licensing is a must
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience; experience across Publishing and Broadcast sectors is an advantage 
  • Track record growing revenue 
  • Meeting or exceeding monthly new business KPIs and targets in a sales environment, and driving new/existing customer leads through cold approaches, coordinated outreach or marketing campaigns 
  • Knowledge of how to bring in a lead and how/when to ‘hand it over’ to internal sales 
  • Providing insight into your pipeline leading to accurate forecasts
  • Developing a strong understanding of the value proposition for our products and services as it relates to your end market
  • Ability to best align business goals with market requirements using a data-sales approach
  • Keep watch on competitor activities and emerging markets and trends  
  • Strong understanding on how to prioritise workload to get best return on time-investment
  • Comfortable working with a CRM
  • Appropriate software and hardware skills with proficiency in excel
