NEW JOB- Currently recruiting for an Events Director, responsible for our clients growing international events business, with a portfolio of 150 events and multi million pound sales revenue. Our client is a leader in specialist business information and intelligence and works across the financial sector. 

The Events Director will be responsible for a portfolio that features a mix of summits and awards plus a large number of breakfast briefings, dinner meetings and webinars across of the company’s market. The business operates in Europe, North America and Asia, with events in a dozen countries. 
The Events Director is a newly created senior management position with the principal aim of putting in place a profitable and sustainable growth strategy for the events business and ensuring our clients has an experienced and expert events team, with the necessary resources to execute the plan properly. The business has a particular focus on launching a series of scale, paid for conferences over the next three years. 

Specific requirements include: strategic planning, idea generation and programme development for international B2B events; understanding and analysing key market needs; end-to-end conference production; project and event management from conception through to delivery; supplier identification and negotiation; defining and establishing processes, procedures and team structures; and budgeting and forecasting, including delivering efficiencies through process streamlining and re-engineering.

The Events Director will report to the Chief Executive and have direct line management responsibility for the existing events production and logistics, and work closely with the Marketing and Commercial Directors on sales and marketing. 

The Person
• Proven senior management experience of events from a similar background; international experience desirable
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise effectively and multi-task
• Numerate and commercially aware
• Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
• Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
• Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office
• Ability to understand large and complex markets
• A team player with leadership skills
• Proactive and flexible approach, with a knack for problem-solving
• BSc/BA in PR, marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred
