Our client is an independent business intelligence company which has grown to become a leading provider within core markets. They provide high-value, specialist business information to the the professional sector and deliver key information to defined target audiences through news content, events and data & insight products.
They are currently recruiting for a Head of Commercial Sales to lead a sales team of 6, UK and US, for their market leading product.

Their product provides industry professionals with the information they need to be confident about what is happening in the marketplace. The commercial portfolio includes sponsorship of Summits, Breakfasts, Dinners and Advertising. Building on existing relationships and developing new ones you will be charged with driving the commercial success for this established team through high levels of creative thinking and new business sales and account management ideas.
The ideal sales manager has in-depth knowledge and experience of the sales process,excelling at lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals. We’re seeking a quick learner with strong negotiating skills, and someone with a track record of success who can inspire the same in others. The role demands a leader with a sharp mind and the ability to
coach, advise, motivate, or replace sales representatives to create and maintain a high performance sales force.

The Job
• Lead a team of 6 sales individuals in the UK & USA to exceed monthly, quarterly and annual targets
• Achieve company objectives through effective planning, setting sales goals, analysing performance data, and projecting future performance.
• Represent the commercial portfolio with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings
• Personally generate sales by leading by example and accompany team members on client visits
• Hire, train, motivate, and advise a team of sales representatives 
• Continuously develop personal leadership, hiring, and training skills while ensuring the team is using effective sales tactics to meet revenue objectives
• Generate leads, and build and nurture client relationships
• Developing your understanding of the  products, competitors and clients to enable maximised sales and revenue generation for the team.

The Requirements
• Sales Management experience within a publishing or events organisation
• Significant understanding of sales operations and experience of pipeline management
• Educated to degree level
• Proven track record of success the sales cycle from plan to close
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
• Superb leadership ability
• Experience of Salesforce desirable
