Our client is seeking an experienced and driven International Account Manager – Distributor Channel to join their UK and International Sales team. This is an exciting new role within the business with the opportunity to work with and develop an established global agent network. The role will be London-based and currently remote / home-based in light of current UK Government guidelines.
The main purpose of the role is to manage the growth and sales performance of our clients extensive content portfolio through its International distribution channel in line with agreed revenue objectives. This is an established and extensive network which presents a significant opportunity for development; both managing existing distributor relationships more proactively and leveraging new business initiatives for the content in growth markets or sectors.
This is an exciting new role, offering the chance to take real ‘ownership’ of the international indirect sales channel and maximise revenue potential in line with the company’s strategic objectives. The role demands a high level of “self-management”, initiative and the ability to work autonomously with full support from the management team. This is a ‘hands-on’ operational position supported by busy teams and as such it would suit an all-rounder able to be versatile on the day-to-day tasks required to manage the network efficiently.
Develop the indirect International sales and marketing strategy together with the Head of Sales in tandem with the direct sales team.
Evolve the relationship with the distributor channel to be more strategic, proactive and influential; connecting at senior level with the distributor businesses where possible.
Take responsibility for negotiation of distribution contracts with new and existing channel partners and manage all associated contract administration together with the Head of Sales,
Effectively manage day-to-day operational support and administration for the international channel to ensure consistently high service levels and customer-focused approach.
Liaise with Marketing, Content Operations or other functional teams to ensure channel partners are supported with relevant technical, commercial or promotional tools.
Meet regularly with distributors virtually or overseas (where necessary / possible) to manage specific issues, improve communications or travel to industry conferences where required
Project Management - undertake ad-hoc special projects to increase sales and improve service levels to Distributors
Ensure that the international team remains innovative and maintains its commercial focus.
Minimum of 2 years + of domestic or international media or content distribution, global channel sales, distributor third-party agent network management experience
Experience of stock photography, creative media, or a digital media based business.
Strong customer-centric mind-set, motivated by sales targets and driving new business
Proactive and creative approach to exploring existing and potential revenue opportunities
Demonstrable new business negotiation experience and able to close deals pragmatically
Comfortable managing revenue and forecasting sales and delivering agreed KPI’s to deadline
Highly competent in a digital-based sales or e-Commerce service-led B2B sales environment
A relationship-builder both internally and externally: comfortable managing executive level relationships as well as day to day communications with sales, finance or operational teams
International experience with a high degree of cultural awareness and diplomacy
Demonstrable ability to write competently; management reports capturing key performance indicators, future revenue ‘pipeline’ and objectives and preparing new business proposals
Able to present credibly and convincingly, network and influence at all organisational levels
Methodical and detail-conscious with the determination to complete projects to the end
Passion for the heritage, fine arts or museum sectors would be highly advantageous
Resourceful, highly organised with a collaborative attitude and “can do” approach
Team player, able to work effectively with others as part of a friendly, dedicated team
Strong time management abilities and an organised approach to work
Effective and diplomatic communicator (verbal and written) with high emotional intelligence
