NEW JOB- A goal-focused team player with the confidence and experience to hit the ground running in a rapidly growing media company is needed for a brand new Sales Director vacancy. Our client is a leading expert in multi-channel, news and factual video content creation, channel launches and distribution and they need an experienced, organised professional with the drive and ambition to take immediate day-to-day charge of all aspects of marketing and communications.
This role requires sales focus, management skills and strategic thinking in equal measure.

The Sales Director will:
 Develop and implement strategies for two exciting new web-based “channels” due to launch later this year
 Drive new sales from our clients content distribution business which is based around a content aggregation platform and the creation and servicing of branded distribution platforms for a range of global companies
 Develop fresh strategies for the suite of products

In addition to sales of these products the Sales Director will also be responsible for creating and executing strategies for further digital channels as they are developed, and for building sales of video production and related professional services.

This role is part of our clients strategy to triple revenue in the next three years and will be based in London focusing on sales in the UK and much of Western Europe. As a group wide role, the Sales Director will report to the Group Director of Strategy who is a board member.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop short term sales plans for the UK-based sales team and work with the Group Director of Strategy to produce long term sales strategies for all of the company’s products and services.
* Recruit, build, motivate and manage a UK based sales team.
* Work closely with the Group Director of Strategy to set team and individual KPIs and ensure that they are met.
* Weekly reporting on sales plans for each product set, and on individual and team performance against targets.
* Deliver on challenging and rewarding individual and team goals.
* Work closely with the Product Director to ensure that products and services best meet the needs of the market
* Work closely with the Group Marketing Manager to help maximize the marketing support for products and services.
* Work closely with the technology and production team to deliver accurate costings and achievable proposals.

Experience:
* 10+ years experience of sales within the media industry.
* Extensive experience of selling to enterprise level business in the UK and Europe.
* Thorough knowledge of media production and the media landscape.
* A good understanding of digital channels and corporate communications.
* A knowledge of the PR industry would be an advantage.

Track record of:
* developing effective tactical plans and successful long term sales strategies
* building sales revenue and profit year-on-year over extended periods
* recruiting, developing, motivating and managing small sales teams
* working closely with product, technology and account management and marketing teams
PLUS
* Extensive experience of revenue responsibility and reporting.
* Demonstrable record with complex sales, cross selling and upselling.
* A good understanding of account management is essential.
