Our client is a leading provider of business intelligence, data and insights on the global asset management industry. They provide high-value, specialist business information to niche target audiences in the alternative and traditional fund management industries and employ over 350 staff globally, with their head office based in London.

They are looking for a US-based news Reporter to cover real estate asset management for their global brand, a data-led business information platform.

The Role

  • The role will be focused on real estate asset management activity the North America region.
  • We need someone hungry for news, who will come in hit the phones and get out to meetings to develop a network of sources, as well as apply data-driven analysis, to consistently uncover valuable information and actionable insights for subscribers.
  • Based in the US, you’ll be working alongside journalists and researchers across the globe.
  • You’ll be reporting on fund activity, providing subscribers with market intelligence on the development of new products and fund launches to significant capital raising, and key people moves.
  • You’ll also track the ups and downs of fund performance, providing investor relations teams with intelligence on how their fund compares to peers, how different strategies and managers are performing and why.
  • Your reporting will be contextualised with fund performance and investor data from our proprietary database.
  • Applicants should have proven journalism experience, preferably with business or finance publications, although we are open to reporters who have built up a strong track record covering news across other industries, or have shown outstanding initiative during internship/work placement roles.
  • Their brand is a data-led business intelligence platform for investor relations teams and C-suite executives at hedge funds, a focal point of our client's growing suite of business intelligence tools for the global fund management industry.


  • Break daily market intelligence about real estate asset management, investment decisions and performance, using source networks and data-driven analysis
  • Build relationships among the real estate community by working the phones, arranging in-person meetings, and attending industry events
  • Coordinating news coverage with data research teams around the globe
  • Stay on top of wider industry trends impacting the real estate sector


  • Proven journalism experience, preferably with another business or finance publication
  • Good communication, organisational and time management skills
  • A journalism degree and/or professional training preferable, but not essential
  • An interest in and some knowledge of the real estate industry would also be advantageous
