We are looking for a Learning Content Designer to join our clients Member Support team on a fixed term contract outside IR35 (approx 3mths) The successful candidate will be responsible for creating clear and concise learning content, including manuals, how-to guides, PowerPoints, e-learning, recorded video walk-throughs and trainer notes.
Our client is based in Central London and undertakes collective rights management for musical works. This is a hybrid role involving 2 days in the office and 3 remotely per week.

Project Responsibilities:

  • Work with subject matter experts to digest complex and highly detailed technical information and transform it into clear and concise learning modules.
  • Design and develop high-quality learning content that meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Use appropriate instructional design methodologies and techniques to develop effective learning content.
  • Develop training materials in a variety of formats, including e-learning, instructor-led training and blended learning approaches.
  • Work with the Performance Development Manager, trainers and SMEs to ensure that all training materials are effective, up-to-date, and aligned with the department’s Skills Matrix.
  • Develop ways to test learning and evaluate the success of training, including creating assessments and evaluating learner performance.
  • Ensure that all training materials comply with brand guidelines and are consistent with the tone of voice.

Consultant Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Learning Content Designer or similar role.
  • Demonstrable experience of similar projects from inception to completion for other unregulated businesses where no prior experience/knowledge exists.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information for a non-technical audience.
  • Strong instructional design skills, with experience using a range of authoring tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with e-learning and LMS platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Qualification in instructional design, education, or a related field preferred.

To make this project a success, the Learning Content Designer will need to possess the following skills and traits:

  3. Technical expertise: While the Learning Content Designer will not need to be a subject matter expert for our client, they should have the ability to digest and understand complex technical information and translate it into clear and concise learning modules.
  4. Attention to detail: The Learning Content Designer should be meticulous and pay close attention to detail when developing training materials. This includes ensuring that all information is accurate, formatting and design are consistent, and that the materials comply with brand guidelines.
  5. Collaborative mindset: The Learning Content Designer will need to work closely with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to develop the training materials. They should be able to collaborate effectively and be open to feedback and suggestions from others.
  6. Time management and organizational skills: The Learning Content Designer will be working on a fixed-term contract of circa 3mths, so they will need to be able to manage their time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure that they meet deadlines and complete all necessary training materials within the contract period.
