Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced VFX Business Development Director to lead their efforts in expanding their presence and driving business growth in the VFX industry, including film, television, advertising, gaming, and emerging markets. As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and strategically positioning our client as a leader in the VFX market. Your role will involve developing and implementing effective sales strategies, collaborating with internal teams, and achieving revenue targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, create strategies, and pursue new business opportunities by establishing partnerships with VFX studios, production houses, and post-production companies to promote visual effects solutions and secure new business opportunities.
  • Identify emerging trends, industry developments, and client needs within the VFX market to build and maintain strong relationships, understand their requirements, and proactively position the company to provide exceptional and tailored services to meet the client’s creative needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and project managers, to ensure the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality visual effects solutions to the clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis, competitive assessments, and pricing strategies to drive profitability and maintain a competitive edge in the VFX industry.
  • Lead the development and delivery of compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients, showcasing the company's capabilities and value proposition.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts Vs performance, reports and provide actionable insight and recommendations for business growth.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns, promotional materials, and digital strategies to support business development efforts in the VFX industry.
  • Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote our comprehensive suite of VFX services, showcasing expertise in visual effects and CGI integration.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements, software’s, and industry best practices within the VFX field to seamlessly identify opportunities and leverage new technologies to increase the company’s global market presence.
  • Ensure active coordination with the clients as well as the operations team that optimizes the delivery of projects and ensures client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to review and finalize contracts, licensing agreements, and other business documents.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of successfully developing business within the VFX industry, with a focus on generating new leads, building client relationships, and achieving revenue targets.
  • In-depth understanding of the VFX market, including knowledge of industry trends, key players, and project workflows.
  • Strong network of contacts within the VFX industry, including VFX studios, production houses and potential clients.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex VFX concepts and value propositions effectively.
  • Strategic mindset and business acumen, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, drive growth, and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Tenacious and results driven, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences and exceeding sales targets.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with international clients, attend industry events, and explore new business opportunities
  • Proactively engage with clients to identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding project scopes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of a range of game world production content tools such as Unreal Engine.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and other relevant sales tools.

This is a remote role with requirement to be based in and around the Los Angeles region.
